Default Transmission?

Hi I'm new here and I have a few questions. Well first I just bought a 95 eclipse gs with 150000K miles on it and it needs some work. The body is in good shape and only needs a good wax and buff. It needs all new suspension, shock and while i'm on that I'm just going to replace all the bushing and any other part of the suspension that need it. I have lots of questions, but only a few today. It's going to need a transmission, so I was wondering if rebuilding the one I have now would a good idea and how hard is it to rebuilt or if buying a use one would be better? I have look around for prices on use ones that range from $375 to $700, and all types of milleges on them. Also any thing else I should know about these cars?

Thanks

Yep I'd say find a used one or have your current one rebuilt for racing if that's what you're aiming for.
