Is the car a manual or an auto? As long as you run a proper boost to the 420, it should be fine.. The check engine light will most likely come on, just because it recognizes something different then what its suppose to.. But if everything is hooked up right, you can ignore it..

depends on what do you have in your lower block people, the crank might hold up to 400 something horsepower, but the cilinders and rods, youll be having a party in your engine by the time you reach 12. There are threads about this somewhere here already

Don't turbo the 420A, its too expensive and not worth it.
You can swap a turbo motor into the 420A shell, but again... its overly expensive, not worth it, and requires insane amounts of fabrication.

Its simply NOT cost effective to swap that motor out. It would cost you LESS to purchase a GST or GSX.

Dusty, bro, you're preaching to the choir.
NO ONE will ever learn this. A friend of mine critisized me on getting my Tib b/c he thought that turboing my 420A would make my rs run 12's.
Needless to say, he's an idiot.
Too many kids buy base dsm's and think its just oh so simple to build an 11 second car with a motor built for onlya few purposes... gas mileage, and reliability. (yes, I feel with the exception of the head gaskets, the 420A was for all intents and purposes, reliable.)
