guilty as charged... when i first bought my rs i thought i could drop a turbo motor in it... needless to say i didnt know ANYTHING about dsm's back then... but i've seen the light! mostly in thanks to all of you here at mitsu forum, thanks! haha, yea man, if you can turbo your car for next to nothin, then fine, but if you really want speed, and a more reliable base car, then go for a gst or gsx, the motor is just simply better in every aspect.

For the money involved, would it be worth it?

Nope.

PEOPLE PEOPLE, its OBVIOUS that the 420a isnt turbable, so what, people do it for passion, hobby and entusiasm, if they got the money, let them burn it, you can advice them and go ahead and tell them "ok, its gonna cost a lot, youre better off this way" But cmon, the 420a isnt that much garbage, i own one and i can defend it. i am not biased by any means, but i mean, its true.... haha i hope you understood me... i sure didnt

Exactly, my point goes around there somewhere..... if you turbo it for show, just to beat the other kid who has a faster car or riced up honda.. then whats the point? why waste all the money? get something else and beat him stock.... but for me... things arent about the money, sweat, blood, work and the pride you earn into something you built yourself even if its not the worlds biggest marvel, is what matters to me =), thats why my RS is gonna be a fine nice clean gorgeous ride, with a nice engine with just VERY basi bolt ons, a good candidate to drive a gorgeous lady to a candle lit dinner in the outskirts of the city

the 420a is GARBAGE! lol.
ive never in my life blown up more engines in one car than a 420a. ok given im racing them but i can abuse the **** out of a 4g63 for years, a 420a just comes unglued at random. 2 seasons of racing, 5 motors scattered on the track - this is 100% stock class, no modifications so you cant blame it on that.

to turbo a stock one, why bother for 5 psi.. they blow up on their own let alone shoving more air in.
if your gonna dump the money to build a strong bottom end then go for it.

thank you racer for putting it so bluntly . Its not worth the risk IMO of turbocharging a 420a for only like 8-10psi. Thats still only gonna get you around the same speed as a stock GST. And now your spending 2-3k just to do it. Sure its "unique" but is it really worth the money. Id say keep it as a fin car to drive around in, save up your money, maybe spend alittle here and there on small mods just to make it more fun and then get rid of it when you want more power
