I have a 98 eclipse and I was wondering if it was possible to fit a new eclipse v6 in there... if it cant what would engine would be a good swap canidate... I dont really care how much this would cost I'm just wondering if it would fit... thanks

 

The 4G motor? I don't think it will fit as in drop in. The 6g73 from the Avenger barely fit in length anddeck lid height.
What is it that you're looking for by chance? More power? If you've got the 4g64 in there already, swap in a 4g63t head and call it a day. Or give me the block so that I can have a 2.4L AWD turbo Avenger

his s/n says 98gs... i'm gonna gues that's what he's got. there are no realistic engine swaps for your car! period. to do the 4g63t swap into your car will cost you minimim 3k. if you are spending that much money you might as well sell your car and get a gst or gsx with that extra 3k.

well then he wouldnt have a 4g64 . Only if its a spyder. Thats why i wanted to know if its a RS/GS or GS spyder cuz there is a big difference there

 

Ive seen like... 50 diff. people asking about 2G RS/GS engine swaps... there should just be a sticky stating that its not possible. Entitle it: "2G 420a/4G64 owners: No swaps. Not worth the money even IF you could find someone to do the swap."

if your going to get a 2G eclipse........just get the gsx or gst.....anything else is a waste of money

 

any why would you want to put in a v6 in a 4 cylider....the 4 banger With the TURBO is way faster then the v6
