That is either a pulley that is loose... or a spun bearing.

Possibly something in your valve train

 

Nate spun the bearings in his 2G, maybe hed know more...

 

well lol...that about the same sound my gst was making right before it crankwalk!!!!

well thats just grate news lol well a built 7bolt here i come

 

lol a new 7 bolt.....get a 6 bolt it will never do it again

and listen to the right side bottom of the motor and have someone listen while the gas is applied!!
thats were that sound should be coming from....

 

i hear a lot of odd sounds lol. lifter tick, sounds like a possible boost leak and the unknown ticking sound... that you should probably take the turbo off and examine it first before jumping to any conclusions.

 

I listened to the video again.. and now all I hear is lifter tick above an exhaust leak. I think you are okay.

 

that's what i thought as well but it's hard to depict each sound. it's still not a bad idea to take a stock turbo off for an inspection, you should do that anyways once in a while to check for shaft play, oil, etc etc.

 

well i found out what it was i have 4 lifters going out i work at a nissan dealership that was a mitsu one before and my trainer was a mitsu master tech so he knew what is was right off the bat so soon new lifters will come and all will be good _ no spun bareings nada with the turbo so all will be good

 

Yeah I understand that much.. but there is an exhaust leak over top of the lifter tick sound.
