Turns out what was making the noise was the oil pump or a belt... Last night we found a belt that had about a 4 inch cut and replaced it. Then I was driving it home last night when the oil pump went out. I talked him down to $6250 from $7200 before all this happend. He just came by my house about 30 minutes ago and I handed him the keys. Keep in mind I hadn't paid him yet. I decided from what stuff happend even though it was minor, that I would be better off with something else. So if anyone wants a fully built 97 GS-T then there is one in lower Alabama for a resonable price if you're willing to take a chance on it. He was very polite and good to work with, I just didn't feel that the car was up to par.
