RE: What do you guys think?
sebba i am tired of you talking about these 500hp GSX's for this price. Find me a link to a High HP 6-bolt swapped GSX 97-99 for around this cost. I would say try and get the price down a bit. Because there are some thing that appear they need to be changed, like the stock intercooler and piping. Maybe around 10k. But other than that this looks like a clean car and clean swap.
I have seen GST's with a 16g go for over 10k. Id say this gsx is worth 10k at least

RE: What do you guys think?
EVO 1-3 motors are similar to 2G motors.
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/4g63motorsearch.htm
They also came out in '92 (EVO 1) which means that the EVO 3 ('94-'95) is a 7 bolt, just like the 2G. They were also known to get crankwalk.
What's so great about the EVO 3 then? The turbo and Cyclone manifold. The turbo is bought and used all day long and the manifold is a difficult piece to use correctly since it uses solenoids to open the second set of runners. In the end, the manifold is what I consider bling....unless you have the solenoids to go with it or have used alternatives to get the second set of runners to open up. If not, congradulations, you now have a smaller set of runners than the 2G!
This is why there really is no such thing as "JDM" for the older 4g63 as there is for Honduh motors and why I always crack a smile when I see JDM in referrence DSMs and the Cyclone manifold (that's a headache waiting to happen right there).
So why would you want an EVO III motor? I wouldn't, it's a waste of time, especially since the 2G motor is an upgrade to the 3's. If anything, those guys over in Japan are looking for USA spec motors.....
EVO Motors: The valve covers of the EVO 1-3 motors will be a kind of titanium color. They are the same as a US 2G motor with nothing fancy. They have the smaller 2G style intake ports, a small runner intake manifold with a larger plenum and a larger throttle body than a 2G motor. Still they are hard to find. Many are from other 4G63 powered cars and can have small 13G sized turbos. They will not bolt into a 1G because there are no provisions for the front roll stopper motor mounts that bolt to the block. Everything in Japan from 94 and up has the front and rear roll stopper motor mounts on the transmission 2G Eclipse style. Many people are running around yapping about how they have an EVO motor in their car. If it bolts into a 1G, it isn't an EVO motor.

As for price, look in KBB and add a few hundred to sell to the public. Your best bet is to sell to the DSM community who may know the value of what you have. Hopefully you don't get any lowballers.
