Default What a dumb @$$!

Alright here it goes. 95 GST 186000 miles stock before this week. Bought a boost gauge and made a boost controller (http://www.geocities.com/chmwatson/FAQs/mbc.html). I installed both and started playing, boost would not go any higher then 14 psi, then exhaust starts to burn oil (I know the smell and color, I have already had a few oil burners LOL) only when I am slowing down. Does not smoke at idle unless it sits for a few minutes, does not smoke when accelerating. Then I thought Oh $h!t 2g bov has met its match, got a 1g on the way but my question is did I ruin the oil seals on the t-25 turbo. I would do a compression test but dont have the time or the tester to do it. I hope its just the turbo, that way the wife will let me get a 14b, dont want a 16g to much for my fwd. My awd talon though thats a different story, it would be a 16g.

Probabaly valve stem seals but you wont know w/o doing a compression and leak down tests.

Even though I did not have this problem be I tried to increase boost? By my boost gauges showed the engine never saw any higher boost than stock. I found a 14b out of a 92 Talon 5-speed supposedly no shaft play, for 125 I will check it out before I buy it. Is that a good price? But then again the valve stem seals would be cheaper to change then the turbo, and would also be easier and cheaper then the rings on the piston, which was the other thing I was thinking and hoping it wasnt. LOL!

$125 is a bit high for a 14b enless its completely mint w/o and shaft play and cracks on the exhaust housing.

Before you start replacing parts try doing a compression test.
