what timing mark for the crank is the correct one is it the 2nd one from the very top one becauseI have it at that one and the cam gears are perfect and my car won't start after just putting a new head on.

first off, what model car, and also where are your marks set for the cams. For a turbo car the timing should be as follows
2 Turbo (4g63)
then here for a 2g non-turbo
2g Non-Turbo (420a)
2 Turbo (4g63)
then here for a 2g non-turbo
2g Non-Turbo (420a)
