RE: where does evryone....
I put mine through a hold in the firewall just behind and a little to the left of the the wheel well looking down in the engine bay, and then up throught the dash and into the apiller, and for the power i daisy chained them together and go the power from my cigerette lighter since it had ignition on/off power.

Most folks just slit the steering shaft boot for the boost gauge hose, that's what I did. No, it hasn't or doesn't bind on the shaft at all. You don't slit close to the shaft, slit it about an inch from the shaft. The wires can go through the same hole too if you have any gauge sensors that need to connect back inside. My wideband wiring went through the passenger side (stock ) wireharness boot. That's a 2G though, I don't know if the 1Gs have that same area opened up for the wiring.
As for the power/light wiring, something like 98eclpsrider did or whatever. My gauges are on the instrument cluster bezel too.<--- I forgot the signifcance of that, but...., lol.
Also, if you do drill a hole, the steering shaft area is a good place because you're able to move around and more importantly, get a drill in there. That, and you're also able to reach behind the motor to get all your wiring/hose.
