Default Whistling noise

Whenever I step on the pedal a bit and the needle goes past 3, my 99 GS makes a whistling noise. Nothing really happens, it just whistles from the engine. I don't know if that's good or bad. And my mechanic said he'll charge me to do a maintenance check on it, so I said no. Anyone know what it is?

my old RS did that too, people at first thought it was a turbo in my car, but told em it was just a noise. i think it normal for the 420a but im not sure.

Check all of your vacuum lines, escpecialy the ones on the intake mani. They tend to crack.

not necessarily, i had an aftermarket intake that was fine, but it still whistled... i think its just a designer flaw or something

Its not a damn designer flaw lol. I hear this EVERY DAY with n/a cars. More so in high flowing intakes. There is a guy with an RSX Type-S down my street and I hear him every morning.

i think it actually sounds kinda cool. but doesnt really sound to healthy for the engine...

do you think it would make a loss in power?
