Default white smoke

Yesterday my 99 gst started to give off a lil white smoke. today it is alot worse. when i comeup to a red light the smoke starts pouring out. my oil level is fine (at least for now) and it doesn't have a sweet taste like its leaking coolant. does any one have an Idea what it is and how much $$ it would be to fix it.

white smoke 99% of the time is coolent. my car gives off white smoke but it seams to happen when there is a major temp change and the coolent resovor is sucking coolent. watch the level of your coolent resovor if it drops it is probably burning coolent. i my self am getting the motor overhualed within the next month but this problem most of the time comes from a bad or blown head gasket.

ok 3 days after it startes to smoke I checked the plugs and they are all normal. no oi or build up of any kind. I did notice that there is a thin film of oily stuff on the muffler tip. when I first noticed a lil smoke I added more oil to it. so now I have more then the top notch on the dip stick. could this be my problem too much oil? It also seems to be running just fine. should I get a compression test done before I start guessing at stuff

All right first you need to not worry about the oil right now. Unless your oil looks slightly milky then that indicated you're getting coolant into the oil. Check your coolant levels first in the radiator and resevior and if they are low then you are likely burning coolant. Usually the cause of this is a blown head gasket and cost will be a few hundred minimum. Also keep an eye on the engine temp see if it's runnning cooler or hotter than normal for what you run it.

I got the compression test done and I passed. But I found out that I need a new turbo. should I get a new one or are rebuilt ones good? does any one have any suggestions on what to get. Right now I have a t25. I don't realy goto the track so I don't need more than 260hp. i dont have a bunch of cash so I cant really upgrade the fuel system or clutch. I do want something that spools up quick so I can race people from red light to red light. Also can anyone tell me the diffrence between the t25 and t28?

I did a compressiont test and passed it. I blew my turbo and had it replaced but it is still smoking. Tis problem is really starting to get annoying. I the car fells and runs fine but it Smokes and you can see oil droplets in the muffler. PLEASE someone let me what I can do to stop the smoking and turn my eclipse from a diesel (gas and oil burner) back to a premium unleaded beast.

what makes you think you need a new turbo? the turbo is not the problem for your smoke, if a turbo goes out you will hear a loud whine, your shaft will be loose, and then finally you will not be able to build up any boost. if you just want a new turbo for mild street racing your choices are 16g or t28. t28 has quicker spoolup, but a bigger price tag and not as much potential. 16g may take an extra few hundred rpms, but will be quicker, you also need an install kit for the 16g.
