Default White smoke from 92 dohc turbo

Sup guys...i have a question about my eclipse. I just got it this monday and i already have problems with it. Its not that it dosent star or that it runs funny but theres oil spots on the floor when i park it. I knew about this when i bought it but i just found out that the car throws white smoke like crazy. I took it to a mechanic but i wont say exactly whats he said so i can get an unbiased opinion here. i want to know of any possible problems...

Also, the car seems to almost give when its parked and on. As soon as i press the gas, it goes away

I want to get opinions first before posting what he said

blown head gasket, or Turbo seal....thats my opinion without looking at it..

next time you start your car, take the radiator cap off and look for bubbles.. if you see bubbles you know air is getting into the line.. meaning, 1 cracked head, 2 cracked block, or 3 head gasket...

if it's the turbo seal, take your intake pipe off and check the shaft play.. if it's loose it's probably the turbo seal.. what di the mechanic say?

It was the white smoke from the tail-pipe of my '92 Eclipse that led a mechanic to believe it was a problem with the oxygen sensor. I really hope it's nothing more serious than that... guess I'll try the radiator cap diagnostic.

My car loses power, and the 'check engine' light comes on... but only occasionally. Seems to do okay (but doesn't have the power it once did) when I put in premium grade fuel. I read another thread here, and am replacing the spark plugs, to see if that'll help.

So, I take it that the '92 Eclips is basically a P.O.S.? Or is it still, basically, a reliable car?

Also, under the hood it has DOHC 2000... it is automatic and has overdrive and normal/power transmission. But as for the specific model and whether or not it's turbo, I have no idea. It has been repainted, and there is no indication of engine type, or anything else... but when I go to parts stores, it has all these different selections. How would I figure out what mine is? Just curious. Yes, I'm an automotive moron. I can change fluids, spark-plugs, tires, and do my own brakes... but other than that, I'm your typical female.

I assume that the DOHC 2000 is the label on the engine? This would be a 2.0L engine. If you look on your back bumper, it may have a model designation there; GS, GST, GSX. If it does not have one of these three, then probably not turbo. The other thing they will want to know at the parts store is if you have an all wheel drive car (AWD). You can check this by looking under the car and see if there is an axle going to each of the rear wheels just like those that are going to the front wheels.

You realize this thread is 12 years old and that car has probably been to the crusher, right?
