THIS is why.....
This is a perfect example of why you should replace EVRYTHING when you change a timing belt
48.3 miles after the new belt

RE: THIS is why.....
2 hours, a belt , 2 pulleys, not much at all, i do evrything myself & got lucky with no bent valves, it never jumped a tooth and still ran
but i just cant win with this car, when one of the ball bearings came out of the pulley it cracked the oil pump housing probly from wedging between the crank sprocket and its leakin all over hell - how nice is that[:@]

well thats not bad at all... usually when a timing belt does something like that... you are looking at some internal damage and that's what i was thinking would make the wallet very light. but you got off very easy!!

yea im just pissed about the oil leak, its cracked across where pressure goes off to the cooler / filter adapter so i'll be replacing the pump for sure, like someone else mentioned, these cars are cursed and you work on them more than you drive them, ive had this one over a month and ive got to put maybe 50 miles on it, man it was fun while it lasted. i have a feeling the next new thing to get trashed is the brand new clutch, it suddenly got kinda strange feeling like the disc is coming apart already - [sm=headbang.gif]

you got off lucky dude...I've had mine for almost 4 years now and have not had one bit of trouble with it and haven't had to repair anything except for replacing some coolant hoses..I guess I got one of the few good ones.
