i never heard of softly tapping on the starter will cause damages and problems...unless you are a Hulk...-.-;;;</P>

hey thanx for your guys,lol. but all that had happened was that the wire connected to the selanoid(i have no clue how to spell that) broke off. all i did was soder it back on and it starts fine now. i know its not really the right way but its fine for now.

 

Tapping on a starter will do no harm like said its a old trick i have used in 1 time on a old ford truck she cranked right over

 

I just had this problem with my eclipse make sure you check the starter wire that runs under your dash to your starter solinoid. I had a wire come loose and that was it same symptoms.</P>
