Under the passenger seat it the amplifier for the Infinity system. If there is no box someone may have ripped it out.

Well yes and no....It depends on if it runs directly to the radio and then form there goes to the speaker or not. If not then you'll have to chase to each speaker as well. Why do you want to take it out? If you want the space it's taking or reduce unneccisary weight I understand but if you are putting in aftermarket and don't want to use it just leave it there. Get an amp by-pass kit and that will take care of it. Although I have to say if it does just go to the radio I'd probably rip it out, just because I'm ****.

Hi,

I have the same wires hanging out under the passenger seat on my 96 GS Spyder. I was wondering whether I could just get a regular aftermarket amplifier and put it in there and hook it to these wires or I specifically need an Infinity factory one to work with the wires?

Thanks,

Svetlin

I haven't actually looked at the connections, however if I had to make a guess I would say it would have to be the factory style amp. If it's just RCA connecters and the remote and power wire than yeah, however an aftermarket amp will require a larger guage power connection than the 12awg that is probably there now. If you want to do aftermarket it's just safer to run all of it's own wires, because using the factory stuff you run the risk of over loading the wires and burning them or causeing a ground loop and getting feedback.

i have ires looks like a stock harness under both seats. are these for power seats? they look more like a muti-pin connection rather than a amp connection.
