any swap is a pain if you dont know what you are doing, but yes its possible and fairly common. Research "6 bolt swap" or 1g in a 2g

try DSM tuner or DSM talk .com both will have a ton of info on it and as already stated search for 6bolt swap or 1G swapped into a 2G. It is a pretty common swap with the 95-99 Eclipse\Talon the motor is a bit better in the 1G.

Id say if you got the time to put in then reseach it as much as posssible and go for it.

 

why do u want to swap? Its not logical unless your motor is dead already

 

wait i thought the swap would give me 180 hp.. but i just looked it up and its lower... i didnt realize...i wanna do an engine swap but without turbo.. because its going to be a pain in the *** to get the turbo pipes and set it up. i wanna swap and engine with like 180 hp.. but i cant seem to find an engine that would fit mine. can u help me out?

 

4G63T? the 1g\2g turbo motors were 210hp. other than that im not sure there is a motor with anywhere near 180hp(may be wrong)

 

what model do you have? I was talking about swapping from a turbo 99 motor to a 1g turbo motor.

 

i have the GS 420a.. i wanna swap and engine... but without turbo cause it too much money and time to get that done... rite now i 140 hp im lookin to either build on it or swap it out.. any ideas would really help me out..
