Wow the MIVEC motor fits!
Okay now that I have your attention can you help me out? I was in the process of doin the brake coversion I mentioned a while back, until I was told I need a step drill to fit the drum ebrake cable to the fitting for the rotor backplate. I dont have access to one and they dont appear to be cheap, so I was wondering, would I be able to buy the rotor cable and just run the line through from the backplate up to the center consol?
Another thought I had was... since my eclipse was an original 95 manufactured in 94, they changed the drums in january 95. Would the 91-94 drum fit? Because as it stands now, I have no back brakes whatsoever, my old drums are entirely useless. Hense why Im doing the conversion but would the 1g drum fit just in case?

Yea thats the writeup that got me started on my project, and like I said after about half the job was done I found out I needed a step drill to open up the fitting for the ebrake cable to fit the drum cable to the rotor backplate. I dont have the tool and its a bit expensive for me. I suppose I could just use a drill bit that matches in size, come to think of it.
So if the 1g's never had drums then why did they keep the drum size for only a couple months for the 2g? Like I said, january 1995 they changed it to like a 9" drum (I believe, its been a while since I bought them) and my rs was from sept/oct of 94. I figured they gave the early production 95s the 1g drum and then changed it in 1/95. Seems like a waste of efforts if you ask me.

I think it was mainly an RS base model thing, because I found a 98 RS i the boneyard (had a moment of silence) and saw that it had drums. My buddy's 97 GS has discs.
And I was sent a pic from my beother, showin the step drill for $39. I went to harbor freight and picked up a cheap one for like 9.99 and a cutoff tool for my exhaust also 9.99 extended black friday deal.
