you want a Carb exempt(50 state legal) one or a one just as good for a fraction of the cost?
Carb exempt- AEM Check their website out
Alternative-Go to Kragen or autozone and get a intake kit 15-20 bucks. or Ebay I guess. But the Legal Carb exempt 50 state way is AEM (the price is all for the silver sticker 0_o

DO NOT BUT FROM EBAY. Another thing I have had expeirence with in these cars. The cheap intake can actually cause your throttle body flange to crack and snap off. I had it happen to mine 4-5 times before I figured it out. replacing an intake manifold is not cheap. After that I made the switch to Injen. AEM is also very good.

Note this is only true on the RS/GS 4g64 motor. I never ran a cheap intake on any of my GTs.

pipes....if your flange cracked Then it was either already weak or you over torqued it, alway look up the torque spec's....No offense man im a mechanic I deal with alot of this stuff on a daily basis. When I run my civic I run a straight pipe from mani to right headlight with gravity tunnel on end. My 69 chevelle has a Edelbrock 20 bucks -Kragen brand one.

TRUST ME. It was not over Tq'd. I know what the hell I am doing. I have had more mitsu's that most people on this site. I have been through them all. Trust me when I say it was not over Tq. If you have a 4g64 car you would know that the intake mani if already soft. the TB flange is very weak. The Ebay intakes DO NOT properly bolt in to support it. Where the support fork it on the intake it doesnt completely reach and it is thin and soft and will break off, dont get me wrong it will take a while but When it breaks off the intake hangs all of its weight on the TB. Over time (not much time either) it will split and you will start with a bouncing idle which eventually turns into the car not idleing at all.

FYI I had mitsu techs even working on the car after I had swapped the intake Mani twice myself. Mitsu did the next one and still did not fix the issue because even mechanics who deal with this stuff on a daily basis could not prevent it from happening twice more.

To the OP take my advise DO NOT buy and intake on Ebay unless it is a REAL thing otherwise you will pay for it later and then some if you do.

Depends. You can buy a kit used too and just pick up a new filter and be done with it. I bought my Injen intake for my old GT for $110 used and another $40 for a new injen filter. Brand new they are in the $200 range.

I would only look into KnN, injen, or AEM. They are the safest bet. Just remember CAI put the intake low to the ground and you cant drive through puddles
