not sure if its the correct gen.- My mom has a 2000 Eclipse. It's been throwing a code for a no. 2 cylinder misfire. Yesterday it died. I replaced the wires. Also replaced the fuel pump. (would almost rather dropping the tank).Help.

 

did you replace the plugs?

 

yeah. tore off the intake to change the rear plugs and wires and found some oil around the plug tubes. I replaced the seals, plugs, wires and gasket. Threw everything back together (double-checked plugs) and still turns over but no start. I can smell the fuel. I should also note that it has a new cam sensor, cap, and rotor. Is it possible that the bad wires fried the cap and rotor? I'mtrying to trace back through the ignition system but don't know much about it.
