oh yea your right, the more i read his post it does make sense. He was saying he doesnt want an answer of V6 but the actual engine code for the v6. The post was a bit confusing. But i guess its been answered either way

Fed specs are faster due toless emision control I.E. only one CAT, better exhaust manifold ect ect... GTS are more on the power level of the fed spec GTs due to igher cmpression pistons now for the normal problems with the 3G eclipses

If you looked you would have found this answered by me in a thread like 2 days ago but ill copy and paiste it

If you plan to keep the car all stock it will be a great car for you. Common issues with these cars are only minor things. For example I got a list from the 2 I owned in the past.

Rotors will warp easily
Sunroof (if it has one) dont work all teh time the right way (they are fussy for some reason)
Power Door locks\alarm - will do what ever the hell it wants at times. It is supposes to beep and flash teh lights but from some reason it will work fine one day they next week it will only flash, then the week after that it will only beep (kinda weird but not a big deal)
the little red corner markers on the rear bumper burn out often take a look at other 3G eclipses at night MOST of them only got one marker working lol)
factory are intake snorkel from some reason the plastic rivets holding it down inbetween the hood and front bumper Break of or fall off (or someone doing a tune up removes them) and this causes the snokel to suction the hood on hard pulls and the car loses power (not to common but it happens, t happend to mine and a few other people I know)

The dash boards are weak up top near the windsheild they tend to crack easy (especially if you spin tires alot, most 3G eclipses have cracks or have been replaced, neither of mine cracked though)

The top center speaker for the stereo is junk it will blow out in a short time.
the In dash CD changer (if it got it) seems to skip alot even on brand new CDs (not sure if the 03-05s had that fixed or not though, and a GTS is an 03-05)

Headlights seem to peel no big deal just an eye sore to the **** people like myself.

I think that is about it... Ill add If I can think of anything else. but like I said nothing major just stupid little issues. They are great cars for daily driving.

Yeah i was just looking for the engine code lol. usually no matter the questions with eclipses people are always like "jdfgksjdhg well you should get a GST or GSX" lol mot really what i want anymore. As many of you know im still in the middle of my swap. it started in early january. I really just want a reliable car that still can get a little bit. i dont think ill be modding it that much, if i do its not going to be anything big like a turbo or SC. i think im going to get a cold air, and exhaust.

Yeah the dash on the car im getting did crack but im not worried about that i dont really care that much.
The peeling will not be a problem because im getting projectors for sure lol.
I heard about rest being a problem and seeing as i can walk out my door and be the beach ( saltwater beach) i better spray it with something.
And im def going to get a new Audio system put in the car soon also.

It has a fresh paint job ( jet black)
New ratiator, she ran up on a parking curb type thing and the rebar went straight into the rat.
The interior is emaculant*. A girl had it
He dad is so cool he was like well since you go to school with my daughter ill give it to you for 5500 i was like GD lol.

I was thinking abuot getting vented rotors just because they look cool and i dont want to deal with that problem later because i do stop fast and go through puddles fast and from my Jeep (lol) i learned (the hard way) thats not good.

I was thinking about getting a strut bar just to have the upper hand alittle from the car twisting because i do drive like all of us on here

Thank you for all of your help and ill let you know how it goes.

If anyone has a question about a 2nd gen to 1st gen swap, ask me ill tell you truthfully and trust me if you have had the problem then so have i and i probably know what it is.
