2001 Spyder GT Temp Gauge Running 2/3 up when idle
Hi all,
Just purchased a 2001 Spyder GT with 117k miles. Car runs like a champ, no check engine lights, but is running hot when the car is in stop and go traffic or idling for too long. Checked the exaust-no white smoke. Checked the oil cap-no white residue. Checked the coolant level-it has plenty of coolant. I'm worried it might be the water pump, but I am open to suggestion! The timing belt looks new, like it was replaced within the last 20k miles, but I don't know about the water pump....

Is there particulate in the coolant? I bet it's turned to shyte by now. Drain it, and refill it. If there's crap in the bottom of the bucket then it's gotten trapped in your radiator. Replace it in that case.
Check that both of your fans are coming on, and that your thermostat is working properly. Also make sure your cooling system is bled properly.
