Hi everyone! I currently have a 03' Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.4L 4cy, I have about 9months with it. Everything was fine until one day when I turned it on it started to make a noise. You know how the rpm has up to 8rpms and when you hit the 5th and 6th rpm you hear a loud noise in the exhuast/motor, well I can hear that noise in the 3rd rpm which is when I usually shift to the next gear. Does anyone know what is wrong with it?

 

You started the car and it was making noise before you starting driving? It probably is an exhaust leak as it gets louder as the engine speed increases.

As far as what you were saying about the 8 rpm, shifting at the 5 and 6 RPM...????? I do not follow what you are saying as the engine rpm's are more than 8 or 5 or 6.
