Hi,

I just had my battery replaced on my 00 eclipse gt, it was working great the past 4 days until last nite. On my way home from the movies, i was about 5 mins from my house when my brake light and battery light started to flash on and off. When i was 2 mins from my house it stopped. But i also smelled a rubber scent too for about 30 seconds. I restarted my car 3 times after i got home to see how it sounded and reacted and it did start and didn't sound odd, but when i turned it over, it hesitated slightly. What could be the problem? Do i need to replace the alternator? Or should i take it back to autozone to see if the battery just isn't connected properly?

 

Kind of strange.... but the flashing brake light could be ABS failure... Try putting it up to another battery and see if the same results occur...
