Can't Shift Into Second Gear
Okay, so I've recently been having clutch problems between having a problem shifting into first and reverse, to my master and slave cylinders being bad, to having a bad pressure plate. Well, today, I finally replaced everything. Both cylinders have been replaced and bled, the clutch, throwout bearing, and pressure plate have been replaced, and the clutch pedal rod underneath the pedal has been adjusted. And; that worked! For a while...
I was driving the car back from the shop and was enjoying the clutch and all the gears working properly as well as the clutch grabbing normally when about halfway back to my house, I noticed that the car wouldn't shift back into second gear anymore.
My dad and I took the battery and battery tray out and looked at the cables to unfortunately find them perfectly intact. The cables seem to be moving perfectly when going into any gear except second. When trying to go into second, the cable just doesn't seem to be moving far enough to get the car in gear. He couldn't even use a pry bar to try and push the cable into gear.
Well, after a test drive, my dad beat on it a lot (hard downshifting, straining the RPMs, etc.), while on a hill, he pressed the brake, let the car roll downwards and when it was rolling, he quickly put it in first and stepped on the gas. Doing that a few times allowed him to shift into second once but once he got out of second, he couldn't shift back into it.
So...any ideas? I'm starting to realize how much I use second gear on a regular basis makes downshifting and regular driving a pain lol.
