Drum Brake Removal
Ok, I feel like a moron becuase I can't get my drums off the back of my '01 Eclipse. The manual says I can thread some bolts into the pilot holes on the drum to pop them off, BUT, they didn't specify what size bolt is needed to do this. Anyone know what size bolt/thread it is, or any other ideas for removal? YES, I made sure my e-brake was down.

I don't know the size of the bolt, you can also try and hitting the drum with a hammer towards the edge. The drum gets a lip on it which makes it difficult to get past the shoes. Just keep hitting it in a circular pattern.

Dude there are 2 holes near the center of the drum. All you have to do is get a bucket'o'bolts get 2 that fit there and start cranking down. Remember to keep them going evenly. It'll be MUCH easier to do it this way vice trying to beat it off.

Just go to a regular hardware store that sells bolts in singles and buy 1 of each size in the general range of the size you need (They're like what 10 or 20 cents a piece) then when you find the right size buy another of that size.
