Engineers amaze me... in a bad way

Okay, so I was checkin out my throttle body because my car's doin this pretend stall thing where it will drop RPMs and bounce up and down on the tach about 150-300 RPMs when I push in the clutch while driving *doesn't do it while sitting still* and idles around 2k. So I prolly need a new TB sensor. Anywho, the reason I say engineers amaze me is the little thing about the acceleration cable. Has anybody noticed this before or am I the first? It runs around the motor... I mean, WTF, it comes through the firewall, runs under my CAI, runs to the front of the motor where it crosses over it on top of the front valve cover *V6 btw* and runs over by the coolant resevoir, THEN, runs behind the intake manifold, and FINALLY reaches the throttle body where it slides in... Take a look at your motor and you might just be like, "Holy Hell!!!" when you see this monstrosity as well. Wouldn't you get a much better throttle response by running it straight from the firewall the the throttle body? I mean, 1 foot of cable is better than 5 feet when it comes to this right, or does it make no difference? Either way it covers up the front valve cover and looks tacky and half @$*ed.
