Default Hp help

I just recently bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and I was wondering what I could do to get more Horsepower without getting too costly, and any other beneficial modifications I could add to my car. I dont know much about cars and all that technical stuff, but I would love to learn more and get some good advice.

Thanks.

Intake Headers and exhaust will run you about $1300 for a good set and give you maybe 25Hp to the wheels. and headers need to be tuned with an safc because they run rich and you might get another 5 HP out of your set up with the tune. so lets see 30 HP for $1600 if your lucky. thats $53 per HP. Tearstone turbo kit $4500 adds about 100 WHP thats $45 per HP. save your money do it right.
Also check out club3G.com for more info specific to the 3rd gen eclipse

you dont need to run an AFC for headers. They arnt gonna increase the airflow enough to make that necessary.

actually the SAFC is a good idea on the 3G with headers it makes a difference belive it or not. I have seen a range of 5-10WHP on the 3G eclipses with tuned headers from an SAFC and when your talking Naturally aspirated that 10HP makes a difference because you cant just make HP easily on N\A motors

The eclipse runs rich in stock format. It will run richer with headers. A good tune will get you 5 more hp
