Hello there. I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem with there Eclypse. I think I have a vacuum leak. When ever my car switches from 3rd to 4th gear quickly like whenI go to excellerate fast... it squeelze. like Its sucking wind. do you have an aftermarket intake? what year? is it turbo'd?

i dont think so... its a 2001 spyder. Im pretty sure its just your basic . Nothing added . So I dont think so. sorry. this justb recently started and my car shop cant figure out what it is

 

do you have a check engine light on?

 

well the light has come on and off a couple of times and so we read it. It said large evap leak. Then they checked it and said it wasnt. They concluded that it was just my gas cap wasnt tight...maybe. They were inclusive

 

so... after they tightened it did it make the noise anymore? sounds like a vac leak to me but it's wierd that you only hear it between 3rd and 4th. i'm going to move this to our 3rd Generation Eclipse section.

 

Thank you. I say its between 3rd and 4th. Like when i pull off in a hurry or something or try to pass a car , if I hit the gas to get up and go it begins to speed up but then flattems out b/c its begins to take in air. I hope im making sense. [/align]

 

oh and yes it did continue to make noise but the check engine light hasnt returned....after closing cap tighter. ( i dont agree with them at all. i think they are just lazy anddont wanna figure this out.)

 

Is there a way you could record the sound for us? I think I know what ur talking about.
