Default Mileage

All,

I am new to this group and to cars. I've recently bought a used Sypder GT 2001 model.

I have been experiencing problems regarding mileage and thought would get some information here. I get a max mileage 15-16 miles per gallon. Wanted to have some information regarding this. I've searched a lot on the web and found that it should be giving around 20 mpg on city roads.

Are there any check points to increase the mileage? I've recently got my oil changed but does not improve thigs. :-(

Can anyone suggest me something on this?

Replace spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor (If applicable), fuel filter, decarbon the fuel system and intake. that should give a good start on the problem you should be getting more than 20 MPG city...

Yep get a spark plug socket and rachet new spark plugs, wires, oh and don't forget to change the air filter while you're at it.

What?? If he can't change spark plugs in less than an hour then he needs SERIOUS help... But he NEEDS more than just the plugs/wires changed. And what needs done will DEFINATELY take more than an hour.

ok....from this statement, i can tell that you don't have a 3G v6. to replace the spark plugs on the 3G v6, you have to remove the intake manifold. even the most knowledgable mechanics take more than an hour.

here is the how-to on how to do it. http://66.29.101.66/~c3g/forum/showthread.php?t=455
