minor performance upgrades???
ok, so i have a couple of performance questions. In the next week, i will be purchasing a K&N Typhoon Intake, Unorthodox Underdrive S Pulleys, and a new muffler of some sorts, nothin to make my car into a rice burner though. However, i do wish to know what type of muffler(name brand) to go with and how much power i would free up with those three mods on my '03 gt?

RE: minor performance upgrades???
Its hard to say becuase everyone has their own opnion on what sounds good and whats nice looking. Personally I like a deep throaty noise with a little rasp, I found that with a dc sport ss round can muffler. Check out streetfire.net and search for exaust clips. Take what you hear with a grain of salt though becuase some times camaras have crappy noise definition when dealing with high db's.

also, if you are looking for sound ONLY yes, you can go ahead and just get the muffler however if you research the sounds it won't be the same because most people who are on streetfire will have catback exhaust systems. which is what i recomend if you want any kind of power out of this upgrade.

if you just get a muffler you will experience NO extra performance. The intake wont really gain you too much, but it will some. I dont know the exact #'s.

Not only that but you'll see little to no gain on a muffler alone. Now get a cast back exhaust system and you'll notice a gain. Also bear in mind that performance gains are cumulative. If you get an intake and restrict the exhaust you won't get the full effect. You'll be bringing in more air than the engine can get rid of. Open that exhaust up and you'll notice more of an effect from the CAI. As an experiment you can get the CAI drive it around. Now put your exhaust system or muffler on and drive it. Now put the regular intake on and drive and see what the difference is.
