I have a 2001 Eclispe GS. Sometimes, from a cold start, I try to shift my car into gear, It is automatic. The button on the **** will not move. I have to take off the **** and get the little white stick to move down. It happens rarely but it never happened last winter. I was wondering if anyone else had that kind of problem and maybe what is causing it.

 

NExt time you take the **** off, try applying some white grease or silicone grease on the white plastic part of the stick. Also, make sure you've fully depressed the brake pedal. Good Luck!
