Default Noisy power antenna

Are there any preventative measures such as lubricating the device? If so, how and with what? I'd hate to have this fail.

Thanks!

Best thing to do is to take a can of WD40, spray a rag with a good coat and apply it to it. I would do this as it was raising and lowering to be able to get into the gaps some. I wouldn't over do it, you don't want to soak it, you just want to apply enough to take away the noise, trust me, it doesn't take alot.

But once you have it added, turn your radio on and off a few times to have the WD40 spread out through out it.
