Default Programming the keyless remote, 2000 Eclipse?

What do you use to ground the 1st and 4th data port terminals before putting the DLC into programming mode? My original keyless remote recently died. I replaced the battery but it still doesn't work, so I bought a new one, which came with pretty simple instructions similar to the ones here: http://ebiz.netopia.com/pyr/mit490/

The instructions say to connect a jumper wire to terminals 1 and 4, but I'm not sure what to use for a jumper wire. The dealership wants to charge me $100 and said it would take 45 minutes to program, but based on the instructions it seems like it's a five minute job. I just don't know what to use as a jumper wire. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
