2001 Eclipse Spyder.....Trans slipped into neutral while driving (neutral indicator light was flashing) pulled over shifted to park, putback into drive but vehicle was in reverse!Now it won't shift at all, when car is off with the key onI can hear the shift motor when I use the "tronic" shifter.But, could it be bad? Could I have a bad TCM? Can anyone help me???

 

Is there a check trans light on, or o/d light flashing? Did u noticed what gear u were in when it slipped into neutral?

 

I personally was'nt driving but I know there is no check trans light.......I was told neutral light was flashing but it easily could've been theOD light flashing, believe it was trying to shift from 3rd to 4th gear into overdrive, that would make sense. But it won't shift at all now.

 

I am looking at buying a Spyder that has this auto sportronic transmission and was wondering how reliable they were?

 

Did u check it for codes? Usually when the o/d light flashes thats the car telling u it has a trans problem.

 

Got the codes: Shift Solenoid C+D malfunction. I am assuming my actuators are bad. Does anyone know if this is my main problem or is it possible someting else caused them to malfunction?

 

Usually the shift solenoids are part of the valve body or main control assembly. Replace that and you should be ok,as long as u dont have like an incorrected #2 gear ratio or something. How many miles are on the trans?

 

I believe 97000 miles on car.I thinkI should get a code telling me if the ratio's are off, ormaybe not.I am going to replace the whole valve body assembly. Can I access the VB without dropping the trans?

 

You probably could, I am not familiar w/ 3g's.

 

i almost have the same problem but i hav a 98 eclipse spyder with a 2.4 L engine non turbo like when i drive up 2 45mph the car will go into nertual and the car will rev until i drop speed 2 20mph and its goes back into gear.. idk what is the problem
