Default Ticking Noise from Clutch.

I've got a 2004 Eclipse GT (5 spd manual). I just purchased it in August andI've noticed that there is a ticking noise that can sometimes be quite annoying.. but once I press down the clutch it goes away. Does anyone know what this may be? I'm thinking it may be some kind of bearing?!? Please let me know if you have any ideas!

Thanks!

Throw out bearing. If the car has nearly 100k miles on it then it is about due for a clutch change any way. In order to change the throw out bearing you need to remove the transmission anyway, and if your car is due for a clutch change, i recomend doing that. FYI, throw out bearings come with every clutch kit, not seperate.

It very well could be the throw out bearing, but Ihad the same problem on my 2001 GT w/ 5 speed. It was a common problem with the clutch. Almost every single one of the GT's with the stright drives made this noise. I am not sure about your's being a newer model but you may want to research this some more before you start a repair.

Dnt change the clutch. all 3g 5 spds have noisy TOBs from the factory. its not needed to change the clutch you will be fine unless your slipping.

Both of my 5spd 3Gs (one GT and one GS) had loud TOB rattle, I even brought it back to mitsu once to see and they did nothing for it of course

Maybe you can make enough of a fuss at the dealership that they will take care of it.

they wont fix it, and it they do not under warrenty, its not a problem and to fix your getting a new clutch which is not a warrenty part.

The dealer didnt do anything to fix mine they just talked to me about it and I left with it the same way it went it. The car ran fine and always did
