Default Turbo an '04 3G GS?

Hi, im new here and new to the eclipse.
first off i just bought an 04 eclipse GS with the 2.4L 4cyl
I looked online to see if they had any kits to turbo the 4cyl and they have none
ive looked around seeing if anyone has, with little luck, everyone says go out and buy a GT...that said, i dont want to buy a GT..mostly cause i just got the GS..im not into professional racing or anything, I honestly just want to slap a turbo in because I think it would be fun..no harm in that
Can anyone give me some advice on how to do this? im not a mechanic or anything hands on, id just like to know HOW to do it so i could get all the parts and get a real mechanic to install it.

thanks for reading, hope someone can give me some insight here

good luck with finding a turbo kit for that. if you want power go for the GT like people are saying, if you want a turboed 4 cylinder you would be better off selling the GS and going and getting a GST or GSX becasue they are already turboed, and if you want somthing a little quicker just put a different stage trubo on.

You can definetly turbo the GS. I have known of plenty of people that have done it successfuly, however it is not cheap. You should expect to pay around 4k total to get the whole thing done. You will need a turbo, manifold, downpipe, injectors, fuel pump, A/F controller and guage, boost controller and guage as well.

There used to be a couple places that sold them but they started loosing money on the kits and it really wasnt feasible to sell them. Your best bet is gonna be to look into a manifold from an EVO since they have the same head bolt pattern. and then i would look into either a T28 setup or a 16g turbo setup. Then you would need to make a custom DP to connect to the turbo as well as a wastegate dump.

But as you can see this is not something to take on if you are not sure what i am talking about with some of these things or are not confident in your knowledge of the subject. Its not something as simple as just bolting a turbo on and going.

Turbokits.com still sells them. As TheEngineer said they are a lil expensive. Depending on the type of parts you want anywhere from 2999 to 4k. The cheapest way to go is find a full kit for a 1g or 2g Eclipse or Talon. The exhaust manifolds are the same and all. Doin it this way will save ya a good chunk of change too. But like w/ every thing aftermarket, sum mods are required! If you would like more info pm me and I can give you more details. BTW just for the skeptics, I've done this to my own car. The 4g64 n/a engine can withstand 10-15 psi boost constant (depending on elevation). I've ran 20 psi on the street/track but wouldn't suggest going any higher than 10-15 psi w/o installing sum ARP head bolts first!

best bet, is to step up to a 1g or 2g eclipse, boosted, yes. better looking, yes. faster, yes 4g63 is the way to go.
