I have notcied that when I come to a stop I feel through the brake pedal and hear what seems to be a spring popping. I am at a complete stop and about 10 seconds after stopping , I feel this very slight "boing" and I can hear it as well. Hapens every time I press the brake pedal! Its driving me crazy.

Do you have ABS?

 

Yes, there is ABS. But I have never heard of it sounding and feeling like this. It cant actually supposed to make this spring popping sensation in the pedal. No one else knows what I am talking about and they have ABS in their 06 Eclipses.

 

Did you go under the dash and check to see if you could pinpoint the sound? See if its coming from out side the car or inside?

 

Is the brake pedal hard to press in, or does it go down with ease?

 

Damn back in the day it ould merely mean that the SPRING was working and stretching for the first few hundred times cuz the brake pedals WERE returned by springs in the OLD days LOL... I think they did away with that but check and see maybe they didn't...

WHEW and I thought I was just dating myself BADLY there (Actually I'm not that old I just like working on cars that old LOL the lack of technology combined with the sense of the pure POWER of a V8 that isn't hindered by all the emissions control or creature comfort feature.... Almost enough to make you need to clean the spot off your pants... LOL)

 

HAHA, I was their at one point, then I discovered the thrill of pissing people off by getting schooled by imports

 

The pedal feels fine and the brakes work ok. I believe my car was made after the 2 recalls.
