alot of the times the service drive advisors are not expirienced in cars, so they give out false information. Either that, or he porposely told him that so he could damage the engine and would be forced to repair it at the dealership. Nevertheless, thankfully he asked us and saved himself the headache.

Good info by the way sebba. teaches alot of new-bs about such a common problem.

I remember when i went to a Mitsu Dealership, rolled up in the Lotus and everyone was lining up to help me. Riiight.

They took me over to the EVOIX MR and let me dick around with it etc.. Then the sales guy mentioned "Oh we have a video of this in the office with it racing a Lambo" HAHAHAHA i couldnt believe it. I then had to explain that the one in the video was actually the FQ400 that came in Europe stock with 400hp. Wow did i make him look like a retard. Fu cking idiots. I guess they never contemplated a 16 (at the time) year old knowing his **** well enough to call him out. Not sure if they where intentionally BSing me... or if they genuinly didnt know. Either way thats retarded

Hi all, new to this forum, old in real life. Just got an 07 GT, and before buying it I almost backed out because of the 92 octain. 3 different sales people went inside to talk to someone who "knew" and said that it was OK to burn regular, you would just loose 10 or15 HP. Bought the car and then read, duhhh, the manual. Ya can use regular if premium isn't available, but get preamium back in ASAP!!! Well I was pretty ticked about this, mostly at myself. BUT think about it. If I drive 10k miles a year, about right, and average 20 mpg, and premium costs $0.20 more, thats only $100 per year. Guess I'll stick to premium, but if I ever run into those salesman out on the street ------------------I'll probable uhhh do nothing.

They know good and well, especially a service advisor. It was probably a salesman that said that stuff. They'll tell you the car runs on water if they have to
