Good news. Mitsu makes a seat belt extender that you can leave clipped in that will turn off the chime and still allow you to buckle up up safely when ready. Best $34.95 I have ever spent!
You spent $35 on a seat belt extender...when all you had to do was cut or remove one wire...WOW...

I wonder if I can sell the how-to for $20 a pop...
Yea, but you cut that wire and something with the SRS messes up... GOODBYE WARRANTY!

Default RE: Seat Belt Chime FIX

I have a 2008 GT Spyder. Here is the fix, Make sure the seat belt is not fasten.Unscrew the two torx screws on the seat belt holder (receiving) and carefully removed the cover. On the cover there is a small slide switch that moves each time the seat belt is "Clicked" in. You simply push that little slider all the way down then reinstall the cover carefully not to squish the two wires. The Seat Belt thinks its always fastened. When you want to put it back just reverse it no problem! It's so freak'n simple a caveman can do it!!! Please buckle up though!I disabled it because I want a little more time to do buckle my seat belt and not have to deal with that annoying chime! For god sakes your in a convertable an overturn without your seat belt can = Death! Yes you can be as stupid as a caveman too!

#1. Why would anything mess with the SRS? It's exactly the same as plugging the seat belt in...
#2. WTF are you talking about with "Goodbye warranty"...??? You don't really think Mitsu can void your entire warranty for disabling the seat belt chime, do you?

Default Disabling seat belt chime

Easy solution. Take seat belt from back seat and buckle to driver . That way you don't have to cut wires

I just put my seat belt on and it goes away.

I think there may be an option in ETACS about the seat belt warning though, not 100% sure.
