Default Timing Belt

Does any one have more than 60,000 miles on their 4th gen Eclipse Gt. My wife has 69,000 on hers. We have to get the timing belt done but I was curious to see if anyone went way past this.

Yeah many have.... and many have broken the timing belt. You know what happens then? Pitsons slamming into valves = at the very least a new head, or in some cases a new motor.

Don't be a cheap ***.

^^^^You have a way with words Sebba.^^^^ LOL

Definitely get your timing belt replaced! It is not cheap to get this done but it is a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing your engine!

This is why Mitsubishi has a poor reliability history. Its not like a Honda where everything is expected to last tripple what the service limit is. They say the T-Belt should be replaced at 60k, and they mean it lol.
