bass is not at all the amp its the whole install. everything goes into effect whether your box is tuned to the specs of your sub or not. stuff like that.

You need to research dB, volume requirements, I've noticed closed boxes are louder for subs. My system can be heard from at least a mile away. Two 15" Hifonics Brutus Subs 1400 Watts Peak 700 RMS(round subs), A Pyramid America 1500 Watt 2 channel amp ( I need to upgrade), a 3.0 Farad Capacitor, a Panasonic CQ-C7413U head Unit, and stock component speakers for now. All this cost me less than800 Dollars. my subs are rated at 98.6 dB each. You don't need matching components to be heard nor do you need matching components to have crisp clean sound.

if anything please do not do a sealed box. almost no matter what it will be better ported.

Ported is only good in places that have a lot of room around it, such as in the back of SUV's. A Sealed box is good anywhere. I don't know what you're talking about...

my system isnt completely setup yet, hopefully in a couple of days but i have a mix and match setup. it depends definitely on the amp. i have a alpine mrp-m650 paired with a 10" kicker L5 in a sealed box going in my outlander. i went with this pair becuse the alpine amps are killer, but the subs arent and the kicker subs are killer but the amps arent. do your research on the stuff.

also what the hell are you talking about, the sound for a port is just like how the bass hits, it depends soley on the sub, not the space. with a port its deeper bass, without its hard and clean. which do you prefer is up to you, but with the wrong sub ported youll more than likely have a **** sound.

in my personal opinion i feel that nothing in the world beats the sound quality of RE(Resonant Engineering) subs and a US Amp(thebrand is really called US Amps just incase there is any confusion)
