Hi - can anyone help me? I jsut bought a used outlander and it has the hard drive nav,stereo (rockford fosgate) and I really want to alter it so it can play while driving for my 2 kids in the back seat on trips! I tried the download I wsaw posted but that says to install in nav port(I don't have one b/c it is a HD) Does any one have any idea if this is possible?? please help!? thanks debbie

 

Be aware that this is illegal in most states, and you're looking at anywhere from $200-$500 or more for a ticket, and if the cops in a bad mood, another $300 to get your car out of the impound lot.

 

Check out the outlander forums, there's a long long long thread there. Just check which version of the software you're MMCS has (hold SET+NAVI, touch "Versions Indication")... should look something like App Version: 00.30.94. If its 00.30.94 or earlier, then a ready-made patch is available (from rcostin's website, not directly on this forum. Check his posts for a link). If its 00.30.97 or newer, you'll have to wait for Otaku to finish his patch application.

It is illegal to drive while DVD is on NEAR THE DASH BOARD.

It is not illegal to drive WHEN THE TV monitor in the rear of the car.

A weird law but doesn't apply with cars with GPS system

 

You can buy the car dvd at Radio Shack around $25.00 to $150.00 buck

there is set that you can put behind the front car seat. that's what I'm doing..

it will cost around $3,000 for NAV system and 650 watts stereo system in 2008 Lancer

 

but can u make a sheild so cant see it but the passengers can see it . can the cops still bust u
