I just baught a 2002 lancer and it seems to have some major electrical problems, I have no idea what to do, because I went to auto zone to buy a new flasher and the guy told me there is no flasher for lancers. I took it to a shop and a friend and they were both unable to fix my flasher problem. things they noticed were a cables that seemed as if they started to melt, and a cable connected to the plug of a release in the fuse box under the steering wheel. withoute that cable being there the car will not start!! this is driving me crazy because I just spent all my money on this car and cant even drive it. any info would be greatly appreciated!!!! thank you

 

Time to take the car to an automotive electrical diagnostician. You may want to buy a replacement wiring harness and just replace it over a weekend. That's what I'd do.
