I have an '02 lancer with 212,000 miles. 3 years ago the AC stopped working. 1 year ago the chk engine light came on. A mechanic told me there was a small leak in the evap hose but not critical.
last week the idle raced up over 4k rpm while I was stuck in traffic.
I have 3 questions:
1: Are these 3 issues related? (No AC, evap hose leak, racing idle)
2: what else could cause the high idle?
3: is it safe to drive with the evap issue and high idle?
