Default 03' Lancer OZ Rally - rpm issues

I have an 03' OZ Rally with 150,000 miles on it, automatic, stock. I have recently been experiencing when coming to a stop my car stays between 2g-4g rpms (generally under 1g when coming to a stop). The only way I've found to be able to bring the rpms back down is by switching my car into neutral. It doesn't do it every time I come to a stop, the car is warm by the time it does it, and it does try to lurch forward at the stop if I can't get it into neutral fast enough. My transmission was flushed a little less than a year ago, I travel about 100/day with it, I put castrol edge in it when I change my oil (every 3000 - 5000 miles). I've put an everyday code reader on it, but its not throwing any codes. No service lights are on, alternator was replaced about a year ago, and the car was checked over for vacuum leaks. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions about what could be going on with it? Thanks for any help.
