2000 eclispe security Problem possibly???
mom has a 2000 eclipse gt. She has locked the keys in the car on Thursday. She was able to get into the car it ran fine. Then she started it Friday morning and her lights where flashing and her car would just die every time she slowed down. She tried using the key on the doors, took the battery cables off and her lights stopped flashing. But every time you slow down for a corner or just let off the gas the car dies. This all started after she locked her keys in her car. Please help we cant figure out what's going on. The car is a manual v6 with a 3.0 Thank you for your time.

Alternator went bye bye, or the battery has too much corrosion on the terminals to accept a charge.
Stick a volt meter on the battery while it's running and see how many volts it's pumping out. Check and make sure the battery is holding at least 12.6v - 12.8v. That's after the surface charge has worn off the battery, obviously if you're taking it fresh off the charger it'll give a false reading.

The battery in the car is not even a month old. All the problems started after the keys where locked in it. Every one keeps telling up its the anti theft alarm. But when we unhooked the battery for awhile then hooked it back up the lights stopped flashing. Everything I have read about the anti theft system the horn goes off as well and my moms horn never went off.
