I have a 2000 Galant that has started to run rough and miss/cut out when you hit the gas and sometimes between gears. When I looked into the sleeve to take a look at the spark plugs there was a small amount of oil in a couple of the holes. It was only puddled up a tiny bit near the base of the plug. I was told that I need to replace the ignition coils, plugs, wires and valve cover gasket because the oil was shorting out the plugs? Does this sound right to anyone, would there be anything else that needs to be replaced? Also today the check engine light came on. Any thought on this?

 

go to autozone and have them run the code on the CEL. My guess is it will come up with random missfire on one or more cylinders. But once you get that then well be able to give you a better answer.
