I had to accelerate my car to like 5000 rpm to pass on the freeway and soon after that my service engine light came on. Did I mess up my Engine in some way? Im a bit worried now.

 

There are literally over a hundred reasons why the check engine light can come on. Many local parts stores will read the code for you for free if you take your vehicle there. Being a 2003, you're still covered under he manufactures warranty so i'd recommend you take it there. There are a few TSB's regarding check engine lights that may apply to your ride. Good Luck!
