i had the same problem in my 95 gs,i took the cluster out to put my rev glow gauges in and i put it back together and had the same prob you have.....i took it back out and played around with the wire harness and put the cluster back in and made sure it was in ther really tigh, when i say tight i mean the connection to the cluster from the wiring harness,so try that and tell me if that worked or not....if not then try spydermans answer......Good LUCK

I just replaced the speed sensor on my 98 eclipse today. Fairly Easy but not fun! This morning my car was stuck in low gear, speedometer wasn't working, and the stupid check engine light was on. Had autozone run a diagnostics test on it and it came up as the output speed sensor and other things involved with it. Gonna cost you at least around a hundred bux just for the new sensor. Now to replace it you will have to get underneath the car. Its located behind the transmission in the upper portion. You will see it. FYI its a screw off sensor which means less work. Good Luck! Hope this Helps! [&:]
